I just bought a 1962 model 65 Massey Ferguson with power steering and it want turn. Takes everything I got and forever to plow it. I unhooked the steering arm and the steering sector turns freely but cant move the steering arm going to the front. My friend that I bought information technology from said it just quit working i day. He thought the steering sector was froze upwardly merely that's not the case. What could exist the problem? Ernie

rear elevator works but fine. Simply realized its a different pump. Besides noticed it doesn't have any fluid in the powersteering reservoir.

I don't know if your's is the aforementioned every bit the later 65's only they had an aligning on the activating pin on the power steering ram in forepart of the radiator behind the grill. They tin can be a trouble to become adjusted after the steering linkage gets worn. hillfarmer

Ok, I adjusted the activation pin 2 rounds then it turned left but not right. I went back and adjusted it back 1 round at present it wont plow right or left. I believe its where it needs to exist simply isn't going far enough to engage. At that place are 2 allen head screws going into where the lines go into the actuator. What are these for(bleeding out air?)? dairyman78

Could air in the system be stopping it from engaging since he ran it out of powersteering fluid? Dewayne H

Thanks. What do I need to do? Simply start replacing pins, bushings and spacers till information technology starts working? dairyman78

1 thing to cheque is to make sure the ram and the mechanism is not loose and shift while your are steering. Accept someone run the steering cycle back and forth while i guy lookout's the mechanism. Sometimes when it runs loose it enlarges the holes in the casting. Other wise you will take to bank check information technology for slop. Trent2520

Quick, easy fix. The pins and holes on the linkage yous are adjusting is worn. It may not expect worn much, simply it won't work if there is whatever habiliment. Get some new pins, the adjacent size larger in diameter. Drill the holes out for the new pins. I have fixed a few that fashion and it always worked.
